As promised earlier this week, IO Interactive has released its first free DLC for 007 First Light. It marks the James Bond game’s second major update, bringing new content to all players across PC and consoles. 007 First Light was released earlier this year to critical acclaim, resulting in over 4 million units sold in just three months.

Called Extended Operations, the new DLC is introduced to players by Dominic Vega, game director of 007 First Light. The update adds several items requested by fans, including new modes and community-focused features.

What’s included in 007 First Light’s Extended Operations update

As 007 First Light’s Extended Operations trailer reveals, the DLC includes new missions, the Valhalla Protocol, Photo Mode, New Game+, weapons, outfits, and more.

The New Game+ mode can be unlocked after finishing the campaign. After that, players can replay the campaign from the start with all unlocked gadgets and abilities, or choose specific missions. It also comes with the new 00 difficulty mode, which sharpens combat, stealth, and social encounters.

TacSim also gets the Valhalla Protocol content, bringing the Aston Martin Valhalla to the Slovakian mountains in new races. This protocol includes four versions of the track, set across day and night. The TacSim missions also get two new weapons and three new outfits. Another new mission is Jungle Heist, in which players must sneak around The Pearl, Vietnam’s luxury resort, to obtain classified documents.

The update also adds the Photo Mode, which lets players pause the action to take photos of Bond or other characters. The update also adds improved weapon-handling animations and the ability to throw enemies off ledges.

007 First Light is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. James Bond will return to the big screen later in October with the re-release of Casino Royale.
