This 1949 Schwinn Black Phantom was refurbished under prior ownership and acquired by the selling dealer, a Local Partner, in 2026. The bike is finished in red and black with white pinstripes and gold and black script and features a sprung seat, a chrome girder fork, a pullback handlebar, a side stand, a coaster brake, a cargo rack, a Fenderlite, a Stoplite, chrome fenders, and 26″ wire-spoke wheels with whitewall tires. This Black Phantom is now offered at no reserve with a key for the steering lock in Livonia, Michigan.
The cantilever frame was refinished under prior ownership in red and black with white pinstripes, along with gold and black script and chrome accents. Equipment includes a Schwinn-branded sprung cognac saddle, a side stand, a cargo rack, a Fenderlite, a Stoplite, chrome fenders, and a horn integrated into the faux fuel tank.
A steering lock is integrated into the frame head tube.
Chrome wire-spoke 26″ wheels are mounted with 2.125″-wide whitewall tires. Suspension is handled by a chrome girder fork, and braking is accomplished by a rear coaster brake.
The chrome pullback handlebar carries red grips.
Pedal power is sent to the rear wheel through a crank arm turning a single polished sprocket and a drive chain.
The serial number F170471 stamped on the frame bottom bracket is shown above and is consistent with a 1949 production date.
