This 1953 MG TD was refurbished in the mid-1990s and was purchased by the seller as a non-running project in 2022. The 1,250cc XPAG inline-four subsequently was resealed, the dual SU carburetors were rebuilt, the fuel and braking systems were overhauled, and the clutch was replaced. Finished in green over green vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, 15″ steel wheels, hubcaps, a luggage rack, and a banjo-style steering wheel. This TD is now offered at no reserve with a tonneau cover, side curtains, and Georgia registration in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in green years ago under prior ownership, according to the seller. Side mirrors and wind wings are attached to the folding windshield. Other features include a louvered hood, windshield wipers, rear-hinged doors, running boards, a flip-up fuel cap, a luggage rack, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Scratches, dings, and other imperfections are noted by the seller.
Side curtains and a tonneau cover will accompany the vehicle. A convertible top is not included, although a folding top frame is.
Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with Vredestein tires. A spare wheel and Michelin tire are affixed to the rear of the vehicle. The braking system was overhauled under current ownership.
The split bench seat has been reupholstered in green vinyl. Appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a glovebox, door-panel map pockets, and black carpeting.
The banjo-style steering wheel is secured to an adjustable column and frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 100-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock as well as auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 1,250cc XPAG inline-four was removed, resealed, and cleaned early in the seller’s ownership. In addition, the dual SU carburetors were rebuilt, the fuel system was cleaned, and the fuel pump and lines were replaced.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch was replaced in 2023.
