This 1964 Chevrolet Corvair 600 Monza Spyder convertible was acquired by the seller in 2022, underwent a restoration completed in early 2024, and scored a 97.11 (Gold) at the 2024 Corsa International Corvair Convention in Dayton, Ohio. Work during the refurbishment included overhauling the turbocharged 164ci flat-six, repairing the body, repainting the car Palomar Red, and replacing braking and suspension components along with the carburetor, pistons, connecting rods, camshaft, fuel tank, wiring harness, soft top, and carpeting. Additional equipment includes 13″ steel wheels, ceramic-coated exhaust piping, quad headlights, and dual side mirrors. This Corvair Monza Spyder convertible is offered with refurbishment photos and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

During the restoration, body repairs were performed and the car was repainted Palomar Red. Equipment includes a replacement black convertible top, quad headlights, dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers.

Steel 13″ wheels wear full covers and are mounted with Maxxis tires. Factory suspension utilizes coil springs at all four corners and rear swing axles. During the restoration, the front crossmember was removed and refurbished with replacement bushings, tie rods, and shocks while reusing the springs and ball joints. The rear crossmember was also removed and fitted with replacement springs, shocks, body bushings, and control arm bushings. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums with replacement lines, wheel cylinders, NOS shoes, and a replacement master cylinder

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl along with color-coordinated door panels and a replacement dash pad and carpets.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The rear-mounted, air-cooled turbocharged 164ci flat-six was factory rated at 150 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. Work during the refurbishment included installing forged pistons, moly rings, reconditioned connecting rods, and an Isky camshaft. Additional equipment includes a 1965-style carburetor, a finned aluminum oil pan, ceramic-coated exhaust piping, a rebuilt generator and starter, and a replacement wiring harness, fuel tank, fuel sending unit, and fuel pump.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
