This Regal Red 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible had an eight-year mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment that was completed by its previous owner. It was then driven around 7,500 miles until it was acquired out of California by the seller in 2022. The car is powered by an air-cooled 164ci flat-six, and it features a four-speed manual transaxle, a single Holley carburetor, a beige soft top, and 13″ wire wheels. Its black interior has front bucket seats, a retro-style stereo, and air conditioning. This Corvair Monza convertible is now offered with refurbishment records, removed parts, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished at the factory in Regal Red (R), and body repairs were completed prior to a repaint in 2015, while a beige soft top was installed in 2020. Other exterior details include quad headlights and taillights, dual side mirrors, and bright bumpers.
The car’s fully independent suspension, steering assembly, and four-wheel drum brakes were equipped with new parts during initial stages of the refurbishment. The reproduction five-lug 13″ wire wheels were sourced in 2016, and they are mounted with 175/80 Milestar thin-whitewall tires.
The interior was disassembled for refurbishments that began in 2014, and it has black vinyl upholstery, front bucket seats, carpeted floors, and a retro-style stereo. Air conditioning was installed in 2021.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles since it was put in service in 2016, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The rear-mounted, air-cooled 164ci flat-six was overhauled between 2015 and 2017. The engine is topped by a single Holley carburetor, and replacement cylinder heads were sourced from California Corvair.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that was refurbished concurrently with the engine overhaul.
