This 1965 Ford Mustang coupe was sold new by Ken Roggy Ford of La Puente, California in April 1965. It was originally specified with GT Equipment, Honey Gold paintwork, a black interior with a bench seat, and an A-code 289ci V8 linked to a C-4 automatic. It was refinished in white in the mid 1990s, and the car was acquired in 2015 by its previous owner, who partially refinished the body, rebuilt the engine, and overhauled the brakes. It is also equipped with a 600-cfm Holley Street Warrior four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand Stealth intake manifold, a Cobra dress-up kit, an aluminum radiator, export and Monte Carlo braces, an 8″ rear axle, a retro-style radio, and Rally Pac gauges. It was acquired by its current owner from the selling dealer on BaT in December 2021, and since that time time new 14″ styled-steel wheels were installed along with ceramic-coated Hi-Po manifolds and a custom exhaust system, and trim items were also replaced. This Mustang is now offered on dealer consignment with the owner’s manual and a clean Oregon title.
The car was delivered new in Honey Gold (C), and the color is said to have been changed to Wimbledon White in the mid-1990s. Under previous ownership the car was partially refinished with work on the fenders, doors, and roof gutter. Features include rocker-panel stripes, fog lights, bumper guards, and dual exhaust that terminates through the rear valance. Stone chips and imperfections are noted in the finish along with areas that have been touched up, and the paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery. Since the last auction H4 headlights were fitted along with a hidden antenna, an electric trunk release, and replacement mirrors.
The current owner had the 14″ styled/steel wheels and 205/70 BFGoodrich tires mounted in 2025, and the spare was also changed. The Mustang GT was equipped from the factory with front disc brakes, which have been rebuilt, and since the last auction the master cylinder and brake booster were replaced.
The car received front and rear bench seats covered in black vinyl upholstery from the factory. Black carpeting is protected by Mustang-embossed rubber liners in the front footwells, and a retro-style radio is mounted in the factory location.
White-dial instrument faces and Rally Pac gauges were fitted by the current owner. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and now indicates under 39k miles, around 2,500 of which were driven since the last auction.
The 289ci V8 is said to have been overbored .060″ and rebuilt with replacement pistons, bearings, and a Howards Cams camshaft. The cylinder heads also have been rebuilt, and features include a polished 600-cfm Holley Street Warrior four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand aluminum intake manifold, and a Cobra-script air cleaner and valve covers. An aluminum radiator, an electric fan, an export brace, and a curved Monte Carlo bar were also fitted. The current owner installed ceramic-coated Hi-Po manifolds and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
A three-speed automatic transmission conveys power through an 8″ rear end.
