This 1966 Ford Mustang coupe is finished in Springtime Yellow over black vinyl and is powered by an A-code 289ci V8 paired with a C-4 three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 14″ styled-steel wheels, front disc brakes, power steering, a black vinyl roof, a Pony interior, GT equipment, and Rally-Pac instrumentation. The car was reportedly owned in Delaware for more than 20 years before it was purchased by the seller’s father in November 2020, and approximately $5,700 in refurbishment work was completed in January 2024. This Mustang is now offered by the seller on behalf of his family with service records and a Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Springtime Yellow and features a black vinyl roof, chrome bumpers, and a remote-controlled side mirror. The seller notes that visible corrosion toward the rear of the car, paint cracking near a door gap and on a rocker panel, and the right door weatherstripping is coming loose.
The 14″ styled-steel wheels are mounted with 185/75 Hankook Kinergy ST tires with 2022 date codes that were mounted in 2023. Work performed in January 2024 included replacement of the front rotors, EBC Greenstuff brake pads, SSBC calipers, brake hoses, lines, and rear brake hardware and adjusters. The front wheel bearings were adjusted, and the brake system was bled. The power-steering system was also serviced with replacement hoses, a rebuilt control valve, and replacement steering components, including an outer tie-rod end and idler-arm support. A four-wheel alignment was subsequently performed.
The cabin features Pony-style black vinyl upholstery with front bucket seats separated by a console adorned with woodgrain trim, and matching trim accents the dashboard. An aftermarket cassette stereo has been installed, though the seller notes does not currently receive AM or FM radio signals. A tear is noted in the driver’s seat.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts instrumentation that includes a speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. A Rally-Pac incorporates a 6k-rpm tachometer and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles. Cracks are noted in the steering wheel rim.
The A-code 289ci V8 was factory rated at 225 horsepower and is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor. Work performed in January 2024 included cleaning and adjusting the ignition system, replacing the spark plugs and wires, servicing and tuning the carburetor, and draining the fuel tank. The distributor was subsequently replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C-4 three-speed automatic transmission and an 8″ rear axle with a 3.00:1 ratio. The transmission fluid and filter were replaced in January 2024.
