This 1970 Chevrolet Corvette is a yellow-over-black convertible that was recently purchased by its current owner. Powering the car is a replacement 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the car rides on staggered-diameter Foose chrome-finished wheels over four-wheel disc brakes. Further details include a black convertible top, a domed hood, fixed headlights, a custom side-outlet exhaust system, Edelbrock induction, and a PosiTraction differential. This C3 Corvette convertible is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with a clean Maryland title.
The car is finished in yellow and features include a retractable black convertible top, a fixed-headlight conversion, a domed hood, twin front grilles, fender vents, quadruple taillights, and a custom exhaust system with side pipes. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and imperfections are provided in the gallery. The rear body mount bolts are broken.
Foose five-spoke wheels wear a chrome finish and measure 17″ in front and 18″ at the rear. The wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero Nero tires. Stopping power is provided by ventilated rotors at each corner, and the car is equipped with a fully independent suspension as well as power steering. The lower control arm bushings require replacement.
The bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl, and woodgrain trim accents the doors. The air conditioning and stereo equipment have been removed, and aftermarket speakers are installed behind the seats.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a column-mounted tachometer along with factory instrumentation. A clock and an ammeter along with gauges for fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. The steering wheel is off-center.
The replacement 350ci V8 is topped with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, and the matching-brand air cleaner lid and valve covers have a chrome finish. An oil change was completed in preparation for the sale. The valve covers are leaking, and the flywheel dust cover is missing.
An engine stamp and casting number are displayed in the gallery.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction differential. The transmission mount is broken, and the reverse lockout mechanism is inoperative.
