This 1974 Porsche 914 is one of approximately 1,000 Limited Edition examples produced for the model year to commemorate Porsche’s success in the Can-Am racing series. The car was the recipient of a 500-hour refurbishment between 2022 and 2023, with work including replacing the hood, repairing and refinishing the bumpers, repainting the 15″ Mahle alloy wheels, resealing the 2.0-liter flat-four, and replacing the clutch, interior, oil thermostat, engine bay components, and more. Finished in Light Ivory with a matte white wrap and Phoenix Red accents over black vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle, a removable Targa top, a front spoiler, pop-up headlights, fog lights, a heater, and a CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. Acquired in 2026 by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, this 914 LE is now offered in New York with a Porsche Production Specifications sheet, refurbishment records, and a clean Montana title.
Porsche produced approximately 1,000 Limited Edition models for the North American market, and they were only offered in either Light Ivory with Phoenix Red accents or Black and Sunflower Yellow accents. This example is finished in Light Ivory with matte white wrap applied to the paintwork. It features pop-up headlights, fog lights, a black removable Targa top, and dual side mirrors. Invoices in the gallery indicate that the hood was replaced with one sourced from a donor car to address previous damage. The bumpers were repaired and painted, the front spoiler was refinished, and assorted weather seals and trim were replaced. The 15″ Mahle alloy wheels were refinished in Phoenix Red with silver lips during the refurbishment, and they are mounted with 195/65 Kumho Solus TA71 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs.
The refreshed cabin features fixed-back bucket seats upholstered in replacement black vinyl, along with a color-coordinated replacement dashboard pad and gray carpeting. The roof molding was replaced during the refurbishment, and additional appointments include a CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity as well as a heater, wind-up windows, and three-point seatbelts.
An aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel with a Dino-script horn button frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 39k miles. A trio of auxiliary gauges is mounted in the center stack.
The mid-mounted 2.0L flat-four features Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 91 horsepower. Work performed during the refurbishment included resealing the engine, installing stainless-steel fuel lines, and replacing the oil thermostat, belt pulley, fuel pump, high-pressure fuel hose, throttle body gasket, battery cable and trap, vacuum limiter switch, injector seals, and more, as listed on the invoices in the gallery. A rebuilt fuel pressure regulator was installed in 2023.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. A replacement clutch was installed during the refurbishment. Additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery below.
