This 1986 Porsche 928S was purchased by the seller in 2007, and work completed since 2016 has included replacing the four-speed automatic transaxle, overhauling the air conditioning system, and replacing various components, as described below. Powered by a 5.0-liter V8, the car is finished in Grand Prix White over blue leather upholstery. Features include 16″ seven-hole alloy wheels, a sunroof, a rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, power-adjustable front bucket seats, an aftermarket CD stereo, and air conditioning. This 928S is offered with a Carfax report and a Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Grand Prix White (908) and features a sunroof, a rear window wiper, a rear spoiler, fog lights, and pop-up headlights with washers. The Carfax report lists a March 2002 accident with another motor vehicle that resulted in damage to the left rear. The right hatch release button has been disconnected, and the headlight motors intermittently do not work when parked.
The 16″ seven-hole alloy wheels are mounted with Hankook Ventus V2 tires. Braking is handled by anti-lock discs at each corner. Compared to earlier models, the 1986.5 928S features revised four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, along with a sport-tuned suspension equipped with Bilstein dampers and thicker front and rear sway bars. The shocks have been replaced.
The power-adjustable front bucket and folding rear seats are trimmed in blue leather, and interior appointments include an aftermarket CD stereo, a carbon-fiber gear selector handle, and air conditioning. The dashboard has been retrimmed, and the seller notes evidence of crack repairs. The driver’s seat bolster has been repaired, while the rear air conditioning fan only operates on its highest speed setting.
The MOMO steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline as well as auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 140k miles, approximately 40k of which were added under current ownership. Blue cluster bulbs have been added.
The 5.0-liter V8 was factory rated at 288 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque. Under current ownership, the air conditioning system was overhauled, the fuel injectors were serviced, the power steering pump was rebuilt, and the following components were replaced:

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted four-speed automatic transaxle, which is said to be a replacement unit sourced from a 928 S4 model. The catalytic converter internals have been gutted, and the transmission cooler lines have been replaced, along with the driveshaft support bearing.
The Carfax report lists the aforementioned March 2002 accident. An entry in 2004 states that the car was designated a gross polluter in California, although the car has since passed California emissions inspections.
