Barcelona midfielder, Rodri, has revealed that the club will not support him to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Rodri claimed the LaLiga giant have decided to back Lamine Yamal for the award.

Both players have made the 30-man nominees’ shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Yamal is looking to win it for the first time, while Rodri took it home in 2024 while at Manchester City.

“Ballon d’Or? The club has chosen to back Lamine,” Rodri said.

“They say he’s the player most deserving of the award, and that’s completely legitimate.

“I hope that a Spanish player wins.”
