The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he would bear the brunt of political backlash should President Bola Tinubu fail to secure reelection in 2027.
Speaking during a media parley on Wednesday, Wike said opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi would come after him directly if Tinubu loses.
“I will be the first politician that I think they will come after. I will be the first politician. I know they will come for my head,” he stated.
The former Rivers State Governor reaffirmed his unwavering support for Tinubu, stressing that he has no regrets about his political stance.
He emphasized that his daily focus revolves around ensuring the President’s reelection.“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the President’s reelection. When I am eating, I think about the President’s reelection. Everything I am doing now is about the President’s reelection,” Wike added.
Despite criticisms and political attacks, Wike insisted he remains undeterred, noting that he has faced more vilification than any other politician for his loyalty to Tinubu.
