The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has unveiled Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Major Jack, as the deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

APC Publicity Secretary, Ikenga Chibike, confirmed the development on Tuesday, noting that Jack will serve as running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, who emerged after the May 2026 primaries.

Party insiders said Jack’s selection was aimed at achieving geographical balance and boosting grassroots support, particularly in riverine communities.

Jack defected to the APC in December 2025 alongside Speaker Martin Amaewhule and several lawmakers, strengthening the party’s presence in the Assembly.

The unveiling of the joint ticket signals the APC’s push to consolidate its base ahead of the 2027 governorship contest in Rivers State.
