Students across tertiary institutions in Zamfara State have launched a mobilisation drive in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal ahead of the 2027 elections.

The campaign, coordinated by the JAGABA/DAUDA Students’ Mandate 2027, was unveiled through a new Campus Ambassadors Initiative aimed at engaging students on government programmes in the education sector.

Convener Bilyaminu Badarawa said the movement would highlight what he described as “tangible and verifiable achievements” in education.

“Our Campus Ambassadors will take this message to campuses across Zamfara, engage fellow students, and ensure young people are properly informed about programmes affecting their education and future,” he explained.

The group cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a major achievement of Tinubu’s administration, noting that over 1.6 million applications had been processed and ₦322bn disbursed by August 2026.

Federal investments in technical and vocational education, research, and infrastructure were also highlighted.

At the state level, Lawal’s declaration of a state of emergency in education, renovation of schools, recruitment of teachers, settlement of WAEC/NECO debts, and provision of learning materials were praised as transformative steps.

Badarawa stressed that students must play an active role in shaping the future of Zamfara and Nigeria through informed participation in the electoral process.

“We cannot afford to return to a past where examination results were withheld, teachers were unpaid, and classrooms collapsed. The future of Zamfara depends on the quality of education available to its young people,” he said.

The newly inaugurated Campus Ambassadors were tasked with grassroots mobilisation, voter education, and student engagement, with the group calling on young people across the state to support Tinubu and Lawal in 2027.
