The shopping list becomes more of a suggestion. Those houseplants will look absolutely beautiful in that corner of your house. And that succulent? Perfect for your desk. The windowsill has enough room for one more plant if everything is moved slightly to the left. But hey, that empty corner at home really needs something green. You need to do something about it. Before you even notice, your cart is full, and the original bag of soil you went there to buy is buried under plenty of pots and leaves.
If you have a backyard filled with plants, then you're a professional gardener already. At least to me. Gardening is a hobby that requires patience and a willingness to experiment, too. That's why you feel thrilled when you see a tiny sprout. That's also why you feel like throwing a party to celebrate your first ripe tomato. I have a few indoor plants at home and water them with the glass of water from my nightstand. They don't ask for more, so I guess my little effort is enough. Besides, every plant has its own preferences regarding water, sunlight, temperature, and personal space. Never change your plant's location if it's doing well where you first put it. I'm speaking from personal experience, but I know what you're thinking. Sometimes, advice that works perfectly for one gardener can produce a completely different result for another gardener.
