The weather app said it was only a 10% chance of rain. Rain sometimes means a thunderstorm completely out of the blue. And then, when the National Weather Service warns people about a severe thunderstorm, we see no thunder at all. All I'm saying is, don't give me a thunderstorm warning and then not deliver. We were trying to take the forecast app seriously. When we rely too much on it, it disappoints us. And when we don't rely on it at all, it ends up disappointing us too.
So, next time you go outside and the weather app says there is only a little possibility of rain, grab your best waterproof outfit, because any number below 50% feels safe until the first drop lands on your face. Then you'll regret not having a waterproof jacket. Worst-case scenario, you'll look silly on the street holding a raincoat.
And I didn't even suggest taking an umbrella with you because Gen Z doesn't use umbrellas at all. People don't like umbrellas anymore. Let me stand in the middle of the rain and get wet, whatever. Ask me anything except looking silly on the street holding an umbrella under the pouring rain. Yes, I'm talking about that item specially designed to protect your body from the rain. No, we don't like it anymore. Just use a hoodie, I don't know. I can't give you all the answers.
Thunderstorms can be relaxing or panic-inducing. It depends on the situation you're in when the thunderstorm arrives, basically. If you're driving, then I wouldn't want to be you. Everything's fun and games until you hydroplane for a second and you wish you got home faster. But if you're already home and you have nowhere to go later, then thunderstorms just add to the perfect cozy day.
