This 1957 Chrysler 300C convertible is one of 484 examples produced for the model year, and it was purchased by the current owner in 2003 at an auction in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Powered by a 392ci V8 linked with a push-button TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Jet Black over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes dual Carter four-barrel carburetors, Kelsey-Hayes 14″ wire wheels, whitewall tires, power steering, a power-adjustable front bench seat, lap belts, power windows, and an AM radio. The tan convertible top has been replaced under current ownership, the engine bay was repainted, and the trunk compartment was repainted and blended. The current owner has added approximately 3k of the vehicle’s 20k indicated miles. This 300C is now offered in New York by the seller—a BaT Local Partner—on behalf of the owner with spare parts, 2003 purchase and shipping paperwork, and a Florida title in the owner’s name.

The 300 Letter Series received annual styling updates beginning in 1956, and the second iteration was designated the 300C. The car was produced in pillarless-coupe form as well as a convertible variant such as this example, which is finished in Jet Black (A).

The Virgil Exner–penned “Forward Look” design features quad headlights, a trapezoidal front grille, fender-mounted side mirrors, a power-telescoping antenna, bright trim, reverse lights, tail fins, chrome bumpers, tri-color 300C badging, and a tan top boot. The power-operated tan convertible top was replaced in 2016.

Chrome-finished Kelsey-Hayes 14″ wire wheels are mounted with American Classic whitewall radial tires measuring 235/75. The car was factory equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted drums at each corner.

The cockpit features a power-adjustable front bench seat and a rear bench trimmed in beige leather upholstery along with color-coordinated door and side panels. Interior amenities include power windows, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a push-button AM radio, a heater, front lap belts, black carpeting, and black floor mats.

The two-spoke steering wheel has a horn ring and frames a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 3,300 of which were added under current ownership.

The 392ci Firepower V8 was factory equipped with dual Carter four-barrel carburetors and was rated at 375 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine compartment was repainted in 2016, concurrent with the trunk compartment being sanded, painted, and blended.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a push-button TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission.
