A political support group known as the Azerbaijan Movement organised a 600-person solidarity walk in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State to back President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The procession drew APC members, women leaders, youths and other supporters who marched through major streets in the area to build grassroots support for the party’s candidates.

It started at Elliot and ended at Nationwide. In a statement released on Wednesday, the group’s coordinator, Abayomi Omotayo, said the walk was held to show the movement’s backing for the APC and its candidates, as well as its commitment to grassroots mobilisation before the 2027 polls.

“The walk is to demonstrate our support for the APC and its candidates, and to show our commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections,” Omotayo stated.

He added that the group is focused on rallying support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid. “We are committed to mobilising our people to support President Tinubu as we approach the 2027 presidential election,” he said.

Omotayo described Tinubu as a leader whose policies are laying the foundation for sustainable development and called on residents to back his administration for another term.

“We believe the policies of President Tinubu are laying the foundation for sustainable development, and we are calling on residents to support his administration,” he added.
