Milan Fashion Week has a reputation for being one of the tamer fashion month events, with onlookers often expecting designers to present lineup after lineup of elevated workwear. (The street style crowd certainly got that memo.) For Spring 2027, while there were a few labels that lived up to that expectation (we’re looking at you, Giorgio Armani and Tod’s), others proved Italian fashion can also be bold, daring and unpredictable.

That unexpectedness especially showed up in a handful of our favorite trends: Standouts include a non-HR-approved skirt style, a triumphant return for Bermuda shorts and the enthusiastic endorsement of plaid as a spring print. Pinking of You

The era of Barbie pink may be over, but designers aren't quite ready to move on from the color as a whole. In New York, mauve was the rosy shade of choice. On the Milan runways, soft pinks were the favored hue. Labels like Blumarine and Prada incorporated ballet pinks, while Moschino and Vivetta opted for lighter, paler shades.

Pencil skirts are known for being a Millennial-beloved, office-appropriate garment, but the versions on the Milan Spring 2027 runways got a sexy update. (Consider this the return of the office siren, minus the office.) At Ferragamo and MGSM, models strutted in sheer, knee-length skirts. Hip, Hip, Hooray

Season after season, designers' favorite historical garment to modernize is corsetry. For Spring 2027, they shifted their attention to double-sided bustle, unveiling a slew of garments with exaggerated, padded hips.
