The CDS works with all kinds of clients. Some cats are feisty, and they run into their humans' lives and cause chaos right away, knowing that it is their home and that they are safe to do it, that they won't be abandoned because of it. Other cats are a little more patient. They are gentler. They give you the news that you are adopting them in a more tactful way. They even act as if they are asking you to adopt them.
These cats show up in your backyard, on your porch, or on your stairwell. And they wait. That's what happened to biadia5 on Reddit. They tell you that it is time, but they give you an opportunity to adjust to the news. It's not their fault that, sometimes, we don't hear them quickly enough. When that happens, they are left with no choice. They can't just keep spending nights outside alone when their house is right there, so… they take matters into their own paws, and they walk straight into our houses. And then they stay. And the humans… we just accept it, because that is the meowgic of the Cat Distribution System.
