I'm researching the current Android app release and publishing workflow and trying to understand where developers actually spend the most time or face the most friction.
- For developers who publish apps regularly, what is the most frustrating or time-consuming part of releasing an app through Google Play Console?
- For a new Android app, how much time do you typically spend preparing the Play Console listing and getting the first release into production? What parts take the most time?
- For an existing app, what tasks do you have to repeat manually for every release/update?
- How do you currently manage things like store metadata, release notes, screenshots, compliance information, and other Play Console requirements? Do you use any tools or scripts?
- If you manage multiple Android apps, how do you manage their releases? What does your current workflow look like, and what problems do you encounter?
- What release/publishing automation tools have you tried (Fastlane, CI/CD, Codemagic, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, etc.)? What do they solve well, and what still requires you to manually use Play Console?
I'd really appreciate honest experiences about what you currently use, what works well, and what doesn't.
