AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF)- Week three of football Friday night features one enticing matchup that could see another close battle between two longstanding rivals.

The Aquinas Fighting Irish will make the trek up north to face the Lincoln County Red Devils this Friday. Aquinas is coming off their win against the Washington Wilkes Tigers. Elijah Hutchinson rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns, while the Red Devils fell against Westside 48-41 in an offensive battle.

Aiden Jones rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns in that matchup.
The two rivals are quite familiar with each other and will be a good test to see where they stand in the first half of the season.

"We've gone against versions of what they do on offense. Every now and then, you're going to change something here and there. They do a really good job on both sides of the ball, and they're familiar. We know what they do, they know what we do, so it'll be a good week of practice," said head coach James Leonard.

"It's a rivalry game, so were going to take it personally. We aren't going to slack off; we know what it is. If we beat Lincoln County, that really shows how far we can really go into the season and into the playoffs," said safety Julius Moretta-Snell.

Kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. at Buddy Bufford Field.
