Yellow cartoons that came after him were definitely based on what this mythical figure evoked in us. Yellow is a very vibrant color, and it goes with his vibrant personality. I was definitely obsessed with him back in the day, and today I still, evidently, remember him fondly.
SpongeBob SquarePants taught us that having a positive attitude will make us go through life with much more ease and enjoyment, and that being a good friend is one of the most important virtues a person can have. On the other hand, through Squidward's character, we learned that becoming more of a snob would lead us nowhere and impact our luck and mood very negatively.
