Former Manchester, United player, Teddy Sheringham has snubbed Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane as he named Barcelona’s Rodri as the favourite to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

Speaking recently to talkSPORT, Sheringham argued that Rodri won the World Cup, adding that the Barcelona midfielder is a leader.

“Would Kane get my vote? Not really. I think he’s had a phenomenal season, but the Ballon d’Or winner is normally one who wins the Champions League or the World Cup.

“He didn’t quite do that, so he’s an also-ran for me. Sorry about that, Harry,” he said.

Sheringham then backed Rodri to win the Ballon d’Or, saying, “He is a leader. His teams normally win week in, week out. Manchester City, Spain. I know he is gone now, but whoever he plays for, they win.”
