Baldur’s Gate 3 is an incredible game, one of my personal favorites, one tens of thousands of people are still playing constantly three years after its release — but it’s not automatically the best Baldur’s Gate game. There’s another game set in the same world, one in which an unrelenting series of wild things happen — a wizard tortures your soul while you’re trapped in a locked cage, your best friend may or may not turn on you at the worst possible moment, a berserker screams prophecy at a hamster named Boo completely straight-faced — and it came out over twenty years ago. Yes, I’m talking about Baldur’s Gate 2.
