If you have been reading my pieces for a while, then you know how much I love Friday and the weekend. I mean… we all do… but there's something that I always crave when it's the middle of the week. I'm not sure what it is, but having that amount of time off is really helpful to my brain. I feel like when the end of the week comes around, I need something that is going to help me decompress from all the energy that I poured into my work and things I had to do.
I do appreciate the week as well. I like to feel productive and to get things done. Besides, there's no way I could love the weekend as much as I do if it weren't for the weekdays. So, it's a good balance we have. At least for me. Anyways… I always start to digress…
What's your favourite day of the weekend? Because if you ask me, mine is definitely Saturday morning. Ugh… the air that we breathe on a Saturday morning is not the same. There's so much happiness and peace; I don't know how to describe it. But I can confirm that I've seen people smiling more, taking more time to do basic things; nobody is rushing, nobody is trying to check their phone while they are grocery shopping and watching their kids. It feels like there's enough time for everything.
And, if you ask me, I do feel like there's always enough time, even on those days that we have to commute or travel a lot to work and then back home. Being in a hurry all the time is something that happens more in our minds than in real life, so being mindful about the way we treat and live our days is key. But no matter how much inner peace we have, the weekend is always going to be superior to the workdays. That's just a nature law and there's nothing that we can do about it.
