Some cats know they need help, and they want to receive it, even if they're too shy and feral to start the process themselves.

Not all cats know how to get themselves off the streets. It's true that sometimes it seems there are cats who adopt themselves, but that's not the story for many feral strays. Some honestly don't know how to approach humans to seek the help they need. It's not about domestication, because there are strays who do feel comfortable being near people, asking for pets, and sometimes insisting on being helped if they need it. But the baseline is different for feral cats - they just don't know how to make it happen.

But like a true introvert - these cats need to wait for the right extrovert (=human) to take them under their wings. And that's the case of Charles, the tomcat who parked himself on one porch, staring into the house and… not knowing what to do. He stared through the glass door, waiting for something to happen, while the humans and cats of the house looked right back at him. It must be so confusing for a stray cat looking in, but we think that deep down inside, he knew this was where he should be - safe, under a roof, with a family.

The bottom line is that we're glad to see another cat off the streets. The people who adopted Charles must be delighted that the Cat Distribution System brought him right to their doorstep, literally. Now he has a roof over his head, a bowl full of food, and a family of humans and cats to call his own. There's nothing that makes us more happy than seeing another stray with low chances get the happiest of endings as possible.
