Cats are already walking around with tiny noses, precious paws, meowgnificent whiskers, and enough fluff to make us lose our minds on a daily basis. Then some felines have the audacity to add ridiculously round cheeks to the mix. You know exactly the ones we mean. Their faces are basically two fluffy puffs with a tiny nose in the middle, and somehow we're supposed to admire them without reaching out and giving them a gentle squeeze.
The extra floofy felines really know how to make things difficult for us. Their cheeks puff out around their whiskers until their heads look twice as wide as the rest of their bodies. Some look like adorable furry dumplings, while others appear to be storing enough snacks in their cheeks to survive the winter. Either way, those faces are practically impossible to resist, especially when they're paired with big eyes and an expression that says they have absolutely no idea how cute they are.
Of course, whether you actually get to squish the cheeks is entirely up to the kitty. Some cats happily lean into cheek rubs and chin scritches, purring away while their hoomans get their daily dose of feline fluff. Others will allow one attempt before the airplane ears come out and your cheek-squishing privileges are officially revoked. Always get purrmission before putting those paws to work.
Still, nobody said we couldn't admire all that glorious cheek from afar. These round-faced felines have plenty of fluff, whiskers, and wonderfully smooshable faces to go around, and we're ready to appreciate every single one.
