Going to college is a wonderful experience to have while you are young. You get to meet new people, enjoy parties, move away from your parents for the first time, and yes, study as well. Not our favourite part, but a necessary one to get our degree in the end.
It's a pain in the neck to go back to school for the second semester, that's for sure. Again with the endless lectures, the never-ending books, the sleepless nights we spend studying for an exam that we're not even sure we're going to pass… Ah, yes, the amazing life of the college student.
We manage, eventually. We're used to living on the edge, and we already handle crises like total pros, so there's nothing they can throw at us that we can't overcome. Except maybe, having a disagreement with a teacher… Yeah, that is an easy way to ruin our college life, especially because they are the ones grading our papers, so we might as well do our best to stay in their good graces. It's not always easy, but it's the most convenient thing to do anyway. Obviously, we're not going to enter class and lick their boots (they'll see what we're doing a mile away), but being polite and asking questions nicely never hurt anyone.
Having one of those teachers is a bummer, but almost inevitable throughout our college trajectory. The best we can do is keep our smiles plastered on our faces and just say yes to whatever the crazy teacher is asking. That is, as long as it doesn't go against academic rules. In that case, you have carte blanche to complain to all academic authorities and make the biggest fuss of your life. You'll definitely have one heck of an anecdote to tell your grandchildren in about fifty years.
The semester is only just starting, so we still have a few weeks of grace before entering the craziness of exams and disagreements with teachers. In the meantime, we can just enjoy the few days we have left of peace with a bunch of memes.
