The date has been set for the official Philippine release of the MG S5. The Chinese carmaker’s fully electric compact crossover will be launched on August 27, 2026, and interested buyers can see it in the metal at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City.
The debut of the S5 will also kick off the 2026 MG New Energy Tour, which will reach different parts of the Philippines over the next few months. At the traveling tour, MG will showcase its hybrid and fully electric offerings, with the S5 at center stage.

Under the metal, the S5 is propelled by a single motor, with a 49kWh battery and an estimated driving range of 415km. It will likely be offered in a sole variant, but we can expect a healthy amount of colors and finishes.

Inside, the cabin gets a minimalist layout with dual screens up front and monochrome finishes on the seats and touch points. However, that is not to say that the interior is boring. There seems to be a multitude of textures across the center console, adding a subtle flair to the S5’s driving experience.
