IndiaAIFounders — Could Jetour PH be teasing the X70 Lightning i-DM’s successor?

Jetour Auto Philippines posted a teaser for a new model on its social media channels earlier today, showing off its silhouette and DRL pattern. Looking into the models under the Jetour brand available overseas, this appears to be a teaser for the Jetour X70L, also known as the Soueast S08.

Being a seven-seater that can be had in ICE and PHEV variants, the Jetour X70L is meant to succeed the current-generation Jetour X70 available in the Philippine market. The vehicle has already surfaced in the Department of Energy’s list of regonized EVs (as the Jetour S08 i-DM, curiously enough), and some initial specs are available for perusal.

The Jetour X70L measures 4,810mm long, 1,930mm wide, and 1,705mm tall. This makes it longer and wider (but not quite as tall) as the Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM. Compared to other Chinese plug-in crossovers like the BYD Sealion 6 and the MG HS PHEV, the Jetour is on the larger side of the segment.

Being indicated as an i-DM model, the Jetour X70L uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 201hp electric motor and an 18.4kWh battery. The setup allows for around 85km of electric-only range, but a total system range was not specified. The spec sheet also claims that it carries a full-size spare tire—a bit uncommon for electrified vehicles as of late.

The spec sheet is light on details regarding interior amenities, but the Jetour X70L does include a panoramic sunroof and soft-touch upholstery. As usual, it also comes with an ADAS suite with features like blind spot detection and lane change assist.
