Being invited to a wedding is not something that happens every day, as weddings have become less and less common over the years. Now, not everyone gets married. You can just move in together with your spouse without having to do all the planning, the spending, and the contracts. Small weddings have also become popular, whether it is to spend less on the celebration or to avoid having to invite everyone you ever met. The thing is, weddings aren't as common anymore. Which means that when someone nowadays is organizing their wedding, a lot more stress goes into it. I think that social media is also to blame here, with all these ideas about having the wedding of the century, to feel like a princess, to be the best day of your life. Those are just sayings. So is it really that important? That's not really our focus here, as the people getting married deserve to have the celebration they want and can afford to have. It's their day. But what actually matters here is if someody that was invited to the wedding, but is not one of the people getting married, is allowed to make choices about said wedding.
In this story, we have a couple that is getting married in out of town, which means that a lot of family members are travelling to assist and need a hotel to stay at. This made the couple reserve a hotel block for the wedding, which means that the rooms are all together and are also at a discounted price, as they are reserving several rooms. Now, one of the cousins cannot attend the wedding, so she decided to give her room to a friend at the discounted price. This made the couple uncomfortable, as these people have no relation to them, and the friend is occupying a room that is part of the wedding block and could be used by somebody else. So here is when I want to hear your opinions. Would you allow this, as it's just a room? Would you call the hotel so they can move them elsewhere, as the people in this story did? Opinions are divided, so what do you think?
