Days of Our Lives loves repeating itself, but this time it’s ridiculous.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-28-26 have all the veterans accidentally getting high on pot donuts—including Julie, who already made this mistake in 2013.

This silly storyline distracts from more interesting things, and it isn’t even original.

The original mixup wasn’t great television, but it was memorable enough.

During that story, JJ planned to bake donuts full of marijuana to get high with his friends, but Adrienne switched his batch with hers because she thought his were ugly and wouldn’t impress the girl he liked, resulting in Julie, Jennifer, and a few other women getting high during a book club meeting.

It’s been thirteen years, so Days of Our Lives is justified in thinking it’s okay to do this story again — but the setup is far too similar.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-28-26 have Julie, Abe, and Paulina laughing uncontrollably at Chanel’s baby shower, while a completely sober Chanel is confused about what’s going on.

If we had to repeat this silly storyline, why did it have to affect Julie again? She should, at the very least, be aware of what’s going on because it happened before.

Of course, in 2013, the emphasis was on weed being illegal and a teenage JJ trying to hide it in the donuts, while now Chanel has been prescribed the drug to relieve nausea while undergoing chemotherapy.

That difference might make this story more interesting, but it’s still annoying that the soap is borrowing a joke from over a decade ago and hoping no one notices they’ve already done it.

At least Days of Our Lives is avoiding (for now) the cliché of Chanel allowing something to happen to one of the kids because she’s stoned, but still.

Chanel will also overhear Johnny yelling at EJ on the phone about the lawsuit during the week of 9-28-26, so there’s that.

Johnny isn’t happy about the lawsuit someone filed against Sarah, and he has plenty of reason to believe EJ is behind it.

Chanel won’t be happy that Johnny is in the middle of this. He didn’t file the lawsuit, but it involves his company, so she will see the danger.

Among other things, a lawsuit against DiMera Enterprises could affect their family’s finances.

But the worse problem is that EJ already told Johnny not to tell Chanel about what was going on, and if Johnny cooperates, that will cause yet more problems with his marriage.

Johnny wanted to back out of anything illegal in part because his refusal to stand up to EJ was alienating Chanel.

She forgave him for the Lexie disaster, but said that he had to stop keeping secrets, and he promised her yet again that he wouldn’t let EJ influence him anymore.

There is no way this ends well.

Johnny said he wanted to move back to Italy with his wife and kids, but it’s increasingly likely Chanel will file for divorce and take off.

That’s my speculation, not an official spoiler, but it seems likely, considering how often they are fighting over his behavior and how hard it seems to be for Johnny to mean it when he tells EJ he’s not getting involved in shady stuff.

Xander and Brady are also trying to prove that EJ is behind the lawsuit against Sarah and manipulated patient files in order to frame her.

I wish this story were about Sarah having to examine her choices and deal with a realistic wrongful death lawsuit.

Instead, it’s a ridiculous exercise in outsmarting EJ, complete with Justin being useless as a lawyer — again.

Trask shouldn’t be allowed to accuse Sarah publicly when the lawsuit hasn’t even begun, but Justin doesn’t seem to be trying to file an injunction.

I know it’s a soap, but is it too much to ask that Days of Our Lives be at least a little bit realistic?

(Peacock/Screenshot) Marlena Is Using Her Brains, But Probably Wasting Her Energy

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-28-26 have Marlena confronting Rita about whether Dominic is really Marlena’s son with Stefano.

I’m glad, because that birth certificate is extremely fishy.

After being unable to find anything at all about Dominic Marino — no passport, birth certificate, or other documents — Bo and Hope (conveniently off-screen) finally found proof of birth under the name “Dominic Marino DiMera”, which is suspicious enough without the added wrinkle of Marlena being named as the child’s mother.

I know Stefano could do almost anything with Rolf’s help, but why doesn’t Marlena remember being pregnant and giving birth?

Also, as I’ve discussed several times, this story is pointless.

Stefano is dead, his son is an adult, and Marlena is a widow in her late 70s who does not need a pop-up child.

I do like Marlena struggling with trauma, showing that there is more to her than her ability to hypnotize other people who have holes in their memory.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-28-26 have her demanding the truth from Rita, which shows Marlena is thinking clearly—but we all know Rita won’t be entirely forthcoming.

Whether Marlena gets anything out of her remains to be seen, but Steve is also on the case, and he and Belle come up with a new theory.

I’m also curious as to why and how Philip and Leo work together, how Leo’s first podcast will go, and what proposal Chanel has for Gabi.
