Well, it was obvious it was coming, but it doesn’t make it any less painful.

TV Fanatic has scored an exclusive first look at The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Episode 7, and it promises to be an emotionally charged hour for everyone involved.

As you’ll recall, The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Episode 6 wrapped up with Hershel telling Maggie that Negan killed Fabian and wounded Dillard.

This puts Maggie into a little bit of a tailspin because she’s forced to consider once again that Negan is not the man she thought he was.

Of course, these two have had a storied history, dating back well over a decade.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 is doing a great job of confronting the question of whether there truly is redemption for someone like Negan, and the back-and-forth between him and Maggie has been a breath of fresh air.

Instead of trying to kill each other, they’ve been coexisting, but Negan’s latest actions will likely force Maggie to confront whether she can ever truly trust him.

In the clip TV Fanatic can share exclusively, Maggie is disheveled as she tries to reason with Renata.

Renata has been trying to comprehend who Negan is and how he could fit into their community all season long.

But Negan isn’t into their way of life, and thanks to her knowledge of him killing the Dama and now Fabian, she’s on the warpath against him.

Maggie and Renata’s hopes for the apartment building have been aligned so far, but their conversation in this clip takes a turn.

It leads me to believe it could be the beginning of unrest between them, which will manifest as mistrust.

After being relatively in sync with their decisions, this could be the tipping point that changes everything.

The acting by Lauren Cohan and Aimee Garcia is, as always, stellar, and they both make me believe that Maggie and Renata offer two valid viewpoints.

The only thing going in Negan’s favor right now is that Maggie is looking at the situation and trying to conclude why Negan went on the offensive after such a long period of calm.
