Milnerton police responded to the N7 off-ramp on Malibongwe Drive in Du Noon, where officers made the gruesome discovery in an open field next to the road.
All four victims had been burnt beyond recognition.
Tyres allegedly used to set victims alightIn a statement, Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said evidence at the scene indicated that tyres had been used to set the victims alight.
“Determinations was made based on the crime scene that tyres were used to set the victims alight. The circumstances surrounding the crime incident remain unclear and the motive is yet to be determined,” Twigg said.
Detectives from the Serious Violent Crime Unit are investigating the Du Noon murders.
