DAVAO CITY — Conservation efforts for the critically endangered Philippine eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), the country’s national bird, suffered a setback after two raptors died from electrocution in separate incidents in recent days. The first, a female juvenile eagle, was found dead near an electric post in Barangay Guinalaban, Salay, Misamis Oriental on Oct. 1.
