Entitlement is a huge problem in our world today.

Just because you want something doesn't mean that you're entitled to it. This is a pretty simple concept, but one that is hard for some people to wrap their heads around. If you're raised to believe that everything in your sight belongs to you, then it might be hard for you to let that idea go. Maybe you had parents who enabled you in return. That's what was happening in the story, where a parent was enabling their child to believe that they deserved something for free just because they wanted it. The person on the receiving end of the story, u/Much-Hamster-8956 shared this interaction on the entitled people subreddit, and commenters had a lot to say about it. Imagine if you walked into every store and demanded free stuff just because you wanted it? Should people fork over their stuff for no reason? Obviously not. But sometimes you come across an entitled person that makes you feel crazy for following the norms of social convention. Maybe they're used to having yes men around them who give them whatever they want without question. Then when they come across a normal person, they can't believe that they're not automatically getting what they want. But as the normal person in this situation, you have to hold your ground.
