"Perhaps we should join forces." Apple TV has revealed a teaser trailer for the film Tenzing, an incredible mountain climbing movie about the first summit of Mount Everest in 1953. Everyone knows the story, everyone has heard the names, now watch a film that brings real honor to the Sherpa behind this historic moment in climbing history. On May 29th, 1953, New Zealander Edmund Hillary & Tibetan Sherpa Tenzing Norgay were the first to reach the top of the world's tallest mountain. Tenzing is the untold and inspiring tale of one of the most important mountain climbers in history who became the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Made by mountain filmmaker Jennifer Peedom (of the docs Solo, Sherpa, Mountain, River) as her first narrative feature film after many docs actually filmed on the mountains in Nepal. Tenzing is a story of greatness that refuses to be diminished — and the love that makes it possible. Starring Genden Phuntsok as Tenzing Norgay, Tom Hiddleston as Sir Edmund Hillary, Willem Dafoe as John Hunt the British expedition team leader, Caitríona Balfe as Jill Henderson, and Thinley Lhamo as Dawa Norgay, Tenzing's first wife. This is one of my most anticipated films to watch in 2026! I am a huge fan of Peedom and I've heard this story so many times and I cannot wait to watch this.
