The upcoming MCU projects might feature the unexpected return of a forgotten Captain America villain. This was recently teased by none other than a Marvel star himself: Georges St-Pierre.
St-Pierre shared a carousel of photos on Instagram featuring Georges Batroc the Leaper, his character in the MCU. He played the respective bad guy in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The pictures included illustrations of the character as well as stills from The Winter Soldier featuring St-Pierre as Batroc. The caption of the post read, “Nobody ever found the body… ? Is Batroc really dead? Does he return to the MCU: yes or no?”

As the French mercenary Georges Batroc, St-Pierre first appeared in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He takes over the Lemurian Star, a S.H.I.E.L.D. launch ship, and holds its crew hostage, a hijacking secretly arranged by Nick Fury to force a rescue mission.
During the infiltration, Batroc engages Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in intense hand-to-hand combat, showcasing Savate kickboxing and high kicks. However, after losing the fight with Evans’ MCU superhero, Batroc is arrested and taken into custody.
Then, in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the UFC star returns as the recurring mercenary Batroc. In the spin-off’s premiere episode, Batroc leads the criminal group LAF in a mid-air plane hijacking to kidnap a military officer. In the sequence, he engages Sam Wilson in an intense aerial fight where he showcases expanded wrestling and jiu-jitsu skills.
He later allies with Karli Morgenthau and the Flag Smashers, offering them resources and muscle to get revenge on Anthony Mackie’s Captain America for ruining his previous operations in the spin-off series.
Batroc also discovers that Sharon Carter is actually the criminal mastermind known as the Power Broker. He attempts to blackmail her by threatening to expose her identity. However, Sharon shoots and kills him during a confrontation after he tries to go through with his extortion demands.
After these two appearances, St-Pierre is now teasing that his character may not really be dead and could return. But could he?
