The trailer for Fresh Meat is previewing extreme gore and body horror. In the latest NSFW trailer for the film, curated by internet horror icons James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca. The trailer also features a surprise appearance by veteran actor Richard Kind.
Janisse and Rebecca discussed their decision to create the anthology . They said, “We’ve been wanting to do this for a long time—hold a shorts competition to help identify and support the next generation of horror filmmakers.”
“Dead Meat has always been a champion of horror cinema, even before its recent mainstream success, which has been exciting to witness. Now more than ever we’re getting smart, original, groundbreaking films in our beloved and historically underappreciated genre. We’re thrilled to join in on the fun and help contribute to that talent pool with Fresh Meat,” they added.

What do we see in the Fresh Meat trailer?The trailer for the Dead Meat horror anthology movie Fresh Meat showcases a fast-paced compilation of chilling horror segments from the upcoming indie showcase.
According to Bloody Disgusting, the Dead Meat team received more than 500 shorts from filmmakers in the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, Austria, and the Netherlands.
These were first whittled down to 30 before the top 13 submissions were selected for the one-night-only theatrical screening of Fresh Meat. The trailer features these very quick, terrifying, and gory snippets of various indie horror styles, creature designs, and suspenseful setups from the culled submissions.
The trailer also features flashes of “Sate the Screen,” the special wraparound segment directed by Dead Meat’s own Janisse.
With the first trailer for Fresh Meat officially released, the movie is set to receive its theatrical screening event scheduled for October 12, where audiences can vote for their favorite short via a QR code.
