The New York Giants have a fresh look going into the new season, but that doesn't mean the mistakes of the past are completely erased. New head coach John Harbaugh has only been with the team for a few months, so he obviously couldn't take care of every glaring problem right away.

But, Harbaugh is a legacy coach. He was with the Ravens for 18 years. He won a Super Bowl with them. The Giants are in good hands.

Still, one NFL analyst is cautioning the team about their offense. It's not what it needs to be, whether or not that's Harbaugh's fault.

Giants' offensive line still needs more development

In a Thursday feature, PFF unleashed its official 2026 NFL offensive line rankings ahead of the new season.

The Giants weren't expected to suddenly be No. 1, but they're No. 23 here. That's brutal.

Gordon McGuinness of PFF states that this group is promising but may need more development. It's a fair point.

"Andrew Thomas was arguably the Giants' best player last year, as his 90.3 PFF grade tied for a career high," he states. "His issue has been staying healthy, having missed significant time both in 2023 and 2024."

He adds, "New York drafted Francis Mauigoa in the first round, and if he can hit the ground running, then the unit looks a lot stronger. But, it's a group that just might be another season away from making a bigger impact."

So, if Giants fans are thinking this team will go all the way in one year, they may want to prepare themselves to stay in it for the long haul.
