The Cleveland Guardians had already clinched a playoff berth, but now have also secured the AL Central crown.

The Guardians’ 11-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals helped Cleveland lock in the No. 2 seed in the American League playoff bracket and cement their place atop the AL Central. Cleveland has won the AL Central three years in a row, and four of the last five years.

The Guardians move to 85-76 on the season with the win. They are the second-best division winner in the AL, and the No. 1 seed in the league has already been secured by the Tampa Bay Rays (97-63). With only one day of games left on Sunday, the eventual AL West winner cannot surpass Cleveland’s win total, locking the Guardians into the No. 2 seed.

Cleveland will take on the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series. Boston will be the No. 5 seed, the third AL East team to make the playoffs. The Guardians and Red Sox played six games against each other during the regular season and tied, taking three games apiece.
