There is a reason single parents get a lot of praise, and people say "it takes a village" to raise kids. Raising children on your own is not easy. I would go so far to say that it is the hardest position you could ever work. When a couple becomes new parents, it should be known that neither of them is taking any long trips away from each other any time soon. If they have to leave the other, for instance, for an immovable work trip, then you have to help prepare the other for solo parenting. Hire a nanny, a cleaner, invite the grandparents to come help, something!
