I’m rewatching Desperate Housewives after not having seen it in years, and honestly, I forgot how easy it is to watch. What I really like about it is that so much of it is just people’s everyday lives. Neighbors, marriages, friendships, family problems, work, money, gossip, stupid decisions, etc. And then somehow there’s always just enough drama to keep things interesting. I feel like there used to be more shows like this. Not completely realistic, obviously, but grounded enough that you could recognize the situations and characters. You could just sit down and watch an episode without needing to keep track of some complicated plot. Maybe I’m just nostalgic, but I don't see many shows like that anymore. And Desperate Housewives being this fun to rewatch after all these years makes me wonder why.
Do people still make or watch shows like this?
