The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, on Sunday, hinted that Igbos have no ears for Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State.

Amadi said Igbos have ears only for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Posting on X, Amadi wrote: “At this moment the Igbos have no ear for a person called Soludo, even he has 100 degrees. Their ears are only for @PeterObi. Plain fact. The way he is going deepens the trust with PO.”

This comes amid the face-off between Soludo and Obi over the debt profile of Anambra State when the latter left office as governor.

Obi had claimed that Anambra State was debt free when he left office but Soludo’s administration dismissed the claim.

But the Anambra State government insisted that Obi’s administration left outstanding loans, arrears of salaries, pensions and gratuities.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Dr Law Mefor, the government said Soludo’s administration had cleared about N22 billion in inherited gratuity arrears owed to retired state and local government employees and teachers.
