Kaizer Chiefs striker Etiosa Ighodaro is eager to make up for lost time having spent much of last season injured.

The Nigerian forward joined Amakhosi last season but has yet to make an impression.

This campaign under Fernando Da Cruz, Ighodaro has shown potential in the two matches he played.

“I really benefitted from pre-season because I didn’t play a lot last season so I needed the minutes in the practice games to build my confidence,” the Chiefs striker said.

Amakhosi host Siwelele at the Dobsonville Stadium this weekend looking to close the gap to log leaders Orlando Pirates. Ighodaro though says the focus is not on other teams

“We don’t focus on how other teams are doing,” he added.

“We prefer to concentrate on how we want to play and what we want to achieve. We have a very good squad and a great technical team that prepares us for whichever opponent we have to face. Our aim is always to win the next game.”

Chiefs striker eyeing goals

The Kaizer Chiefs striker urged fans to come out in numbers to support them against Siwelele on Sunday.

“To all Amakhosi fans. I am really happy for the support you are giving us. I really appreciate how you fill up the stadiums to get behind us and I hope you keep coming.”

Amakhosi are third in the Betway Premiership, and trail log leaders Orlando Pirates by five points although they have a game in hand.
