Swerve Strickland came out of the back first to get the crowd at Wembley Stadium in London on their feet. Then, music from two new men played.

Kofi and Austin Creed came out as a tag team now known as The New Level. It was their first appearance in AEW since they hit the pro wrestling industry’s free-agent market. It also marked the latest marquee signing for AEW, bolstering the company’s tag team division even more.

In the match, champions Adam Page, Bandido and Brody King lasted as long as they could before getting thrown out of the ring and eliminated from title contention. Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong and Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors and David Finlay were eliminated slowly as were Colten and Austin Gunn and Jay White.

It came down to Strickland, Kofi and Creed and Claudio Castagnoli, Pac and Kidd. Kofi was on the verge of being eliminated but his feet never touched the ground. Prince Nana came over to help Kofi out and kept him in the match.

Strickland, Kofi and Creed took advantage of the help and took care of the rest of their opponents and won the AEW Trios Championship. Kofi and Creed were known as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in WWE before they departed. They were tag team champions multiple times with the company.

AEW owner Tony Khan later announced that Kofi and Creed officially joined the promotion.
