Taylor Sheridan‘s Landman has welcomed a major cast addition for its upcoming Season 3. Fans know the actor from other beloved television shows, such as Jack Ryan and Lioness.

Michael Kelly has officially joined the cast of Landman Season 3 and is set to appear as a series regular. The actor will play William Crockett in the show. The character is described as “the leader of the largest oil management firm in the world. He is a titan of industry, and everything about him exudes efficiency and money.”

Crockett appears to be the new major player in the industry, reminiscent of Jon Hamm’s Season 1 character Monty Miller, an oil tycoon who died at the season finale.

Meanwhile, Kelly is currently starring in the third season of Lioness, the popular spy thriller series led by Zoe Saldaña. The four-time Emmy nominee’s credits also include acclaimed TV shows and movies such as House of Cards, Black Mirror, Man of Steel, Now You See Me, and Everest, to name a few.

What to expect from Landman Season 3

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in January, Landman’s co-creator Christian Wallace said that Season 3 will be a “reset.” The Season 2 finale saw Tommy launch CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, marking a new chapter for the character. The company will also give Tommy a chance to better connect with T.L. and Cooper.

“We have these characters entering into different dynamics with one another, and now we have T.L., Tommy, and Cooper all working at the same company, but not under the auspices of this larger corporation,” Wallace said. “It’s now family-run, very small, starting from almost scratch. That’s a whole new dynamic for them. Along with these other characters from M-Tex who are taking a pretty big gamble.”

Christian Wallace teased that the supposed happy ending that Tommy got in Season 2 might not last very long.

Paramount+ has not announced an official release date for Landman Season 3. However, some reports speculate that it could arrive in late 2027.
