Rolly Romero vs. Teofimo Lopez will collide later TONIGHT (Sat., Aug. 22, 2026) for Rolly’s WBA Welterweight title inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, streaming live on DAZN PPV. The fight will be Romero’s first chance to defend the strap he won last year by defeating Ryan Garcia. For Lopez, this is his chance to get back on track after coughing up his WBO and The Ring Light Welterweight titles to Shakur Stevenson in his last outing.

Check left hook from Romero keeps Lopez at bay. Lopez is clearly the faster striker of the two. Jab to the chest from Lopez, who is the one coming forward. Nice liver shot lands for Lopez. Jabs land for Lopez. Romero not committing to anything powerful at the moment and has been on his heels all night. Lopez with an overhand right that lands. Lopez feinting, Romero reacting. Romero can’t seem to get much going. Lopez with a left hook to the midsection. They clinch and Romero tries to rabbit punch. Jab downstairs for Lopez. 10-9 Lopez
Round 4:
Romero with a nice right hand to kick things off. They clinch and they do a little bit of dirty inside boxing. Rolly is once again on his heels as Lopez is bringing the pressure. Double jab to the chest from Lopez. Romero misses a left hook and Lopez takes advantage with a clean right hand. Double jab from Lopez and Romero lands a clean check hook that sends him flying back a bit. 10-9 Romero
Round 5:
Romero hasn’t thrown a ton of volume, and while Lopez has landed three times as many jabs, he has not hurt Romero. Romero lands a clean left hand and he has cut Lopez above right eye. Romero is coming in string and he wobbles Lopez with a big right hand. Romero putting on the pressure and Lopez slips to the canvas. No knockdown. Romero now has confidence and he is pushing forward. Lopez with a nice combo to the body. Romero on his heels against and Lopez taunting a bit. Romero is not going to chase. Double jab from Lopez. Lopez with a hook to the body. Romero pumps the jab, nothing there. Slower round. 10-9 Lopez
Round 7:
Romero is a bit more active in this round. He has Romero on his heels, and lands a short right hand behind the jab. Another jab to the body from the challenger. Overhand right from Lopez and a counter-right from Romero. Lopez doing a bit of jumping around and is now on the attack. Romero lunges in with a stiff jab and lands a clean left hook. Romero doing a lot of evading, Lopez doing a lot of chasing here in this round. Rolly pumping the jab this round. Lopez quick on his feet as he has been all night. Romero pushes through but Lopez lands a left hook to the body. They clinch. Romero trying to pop off but has not done much since wobbling the challenger earlier. 10-9 Lopez
Round 9:
Romero pushing the pace to start the round. Lopez going to the well and working the jab. The action has slowed and the fans are not happy. Lopez isn’t doing a ton, but more than Romero. Lopez is trying to work but Romero is doing a lot of running around, not willing to engage toe-to-toe. 10-9 Lopez.
Round 10:
Romero doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to pop off a ton of offense. Lopes is the busier fighter and is going to the jab to the body, and then upstairs. Lopez lands a huge overhand right. That woke Romero up a bit, but still not engaging. They clinch and Lopez lands some rabbit punches to the body. 10-9 Lopez

Romero needs to show a bit more urgency, he is down big. Lopez comes right into the attack and lands a nice right hand, then a jab to the body. Romero lands a nice overhand left, but Lopez checks him to the body. They clinch, separate. Lopez working the body, then upstairs with the jab. 10-9 Lopez

Romero takes the center quickly and Lopez meets him there and goes to the body. Romero misses everything on an overhand right and Lopez makes him pay with a body shot.
