My partner and I are moving in two months to another unit in our bldg (Just signed a new lease today YAY!) and we're gaining over 265 square feet of space as well as a dedicated studio/guest space. I've attached our new floor plan in the hopes I can get the ball rolling on some layout/design ideas for the main living space. We've never dealt with this room shape before so we really want to get it right. New apartment is west facing with the living window facing the balcony. Having a space that feels intentional and welcoming is super important so any thoughts/ideas/tips would be so appreciated!
The other 2 photos attached are of our current apartment, just to give you an idea of our style, although we're going to sell the blue upholstered couches and go for far more minimal pieces as seating options with warm neutral fabric and natural wood (think Japandi or Danish design) We host often so having a layout and furniture that accommodates without overwhelming the space is important Funky/weird ideas are also welcome as we like thinking outside the box as well. The only thing that is coming with us to the new space that will need to fit is a 4-6 person round glass dining table, our coffee table, and the small piano (which I may move to the spare room.) We'd also like to move some of the main book/record storage elsewhere in the apartment to spread that out a bit. Thanks in advance for your thoughts! :) :)
